Food-themed parties are so trendy right now! And no food screams HAPPY BIRTHDAY more than sprinkles, right? This Sprinkles Birthday Banner is the perfect addition to your next shindig.
I’m so embarrassed that I STILL have Donut Bar birthday party tutorials for you. And since we are 6 weeks out from Whitlee’s 4th birthday party I have to get these wrapped up quick. Now if I can just stay awake long enough at night to do some writing!
So today I’m sharing the Sprinkles Birthday Banner from Bradlee’s 2nd birthday party. And this is how it works.
Sprinkles Birthday Banner Tutorial
Collect these materials:
felt (enough for 13 panels)
The Banner Process:
1-Cut your felt into banner size. Make sure they are large enough for your letters to fit!
2-Lay felt pieces out, evenly spaced, with the jute across the top.
3-Roll down the top of the felt to cover twine and hot glue it in place (and remove the stickers BEFORE cutting. It stretches the felt if you try to take it off once the felt is cut!! Lesson learned.)
4- Now your banner is ready and we can start on the fun part- SPRINKLES!
**You can find pre-made banners pretty cheap but they are rarely the exact colors I want, or the correct length.
The Sprinkles Process:
I used non-paraleils on this project but regular sprinkles would probably be my choice next time around.
I found these di-cut letters on clearance at Hobby Lobby and snagged them for the party.
This was my setup for sprinkling (in hopes of not spreading sprinkles across my kitchen!)
We tried several ways of getting sprinkles onto the letters and realized sprinkling from the bottle was not the best method. I feel like I should point out “we” refers to me and the 3 year old. She was so excited about her sister’s party and realllllly wanted to help with all the crafting.
1- Paint your letter with glue.
2- Spoon sprinkles onto your letter
3- Shake off excess sprinkles and remove letter
4- Allow letters to dry completely and hot glue onto felt banner.
I adore how bright and cheerful this one turned out! What do you think?
