These weeks are flying by. My days seem so very long… endless almost. But before I know it, Thursday has come back again and I am sitting down to share a little recap of my happy moments! Thank you for dropping in each week to join me. This weekend I was sleepless and solo but we still managed to have a blast.
Y’all- seriously… I can’t. These love handles and that belly are just more than I can… handle! I could eat her.
I know- I joke a lot about my little twonager but this chick’s concern with blackheads is just too much. Whit has a slight obsession with bandaids. Last week she discovered the butterfly bandaids and insisted on wearing them on her nose. I have no idea where she’s seen these little strips in action because her mama doesn’t use them!
Sleepless and Solo
Well, my husband abandoned us for the weekend. I would have been much happier with this arrangement if my kids sept… but we were not blessed with sleepers. I ran the girls to death at an indoor playground and even braved eating out with them. I just knew we would do some serious sleeping afterwards. Not. A. Chance. The Lees took turns pulling all-nighters and I am still catching up on my rest. I read once that it’s impossible to be creative when you are exhausted. I believe it- I currently have about 6 half-written blog posts waiting to be finished. As soon as my brain starts working again.
A Girl and a Dog
My fur children precede my husband and the Lees, and I never thought it would happen— but I actually started to treat them like pets instead of people when my human babies came along. With that said, I love the relationships between all four of them. This sweet boy stays right under my feet all the time (he’s always been a mama’s boy) and Whitlee loves to hover right over top of him these days.
I promise they are having more fun than it looks like from these pictures. B was not a huge fan of her really (really, really, really) cute snowpuffer* but it kept her warm. And Whit was loving it until she slipped. That girl hates to fall. Somehow it is always my fault and I end up getting hit and fussed at in retaliation.
Now, on to the 100 Happy Days Link Up
We are so excited you are joining us for 100 Happy Days #16! We hope you are loving all the posts and finding some great, new blogs to follow. Thank you for joining us each week.
The other hosts and I have had so much fun reading all your posts- they have been encouraging, uplifting, funny, and unique. Thank you so much for visiting each week!
Behind the Link
Every few weeks, the 100 Happy Days ladies will choose a blogger who regularly links up to be featured in a special ‘Behind the Link‘ snippet! We will share the blog, a short Q&A with the blogger, and his or her social media links. We invite you to get to know some of your linkup buddies & to show some love by dropping in for a visit!
This week’s Behind the Link feature is Coffee Shop Conversations, a blog written by husband and wife Jed & Jenny! Check out this short Q&A about their blog!
Why did you start blogging?
Jenny and I began blogging because we wanted to share what we are learning about blended family life and family leadership. We also wanted to encourage others to keep growing in their faith. In the process, we discovered that writing is an excellent way to continue our own growth, while making new friends along the way!
What is the meaning of the name of your blog?
Of course, Jenny and I both love coffee. We also enjoy keeping things real. Coffee shops are where life happens. They an excellent venue for people watching. There are couples on dates, others who are breaking up, and parents doing their best to manage children in the middle of full-blow fits. Coffee shops are as real as it gets, and Jenny and I like to keep things real too. This means sharing both our ups and downs in our posts.
Our hope is to create a space where honest conversation can take place. I, Jed, became disillusioned with the one-size-fits-all approach to giving advice. I received too much authoritative feedback that simply didn’t work. Life isn’t a dot-to-dot. Tools that work well for one family won’t necessarily provide the same results for another. Jenny and I believe that the best family wisdom comes through conversation–and, that conversation is even better when coffee is served!
If you could sum up the purpose of your blog in one sentence, what would it be?
Narrowing down the purpose of our site hasn’t been easy, but we finally have it figured out. “Coffee Shop Conversations, provides freshly brewed wisdom to help you lead your family, grow your friendships, and mature your faith, so that you and your family can live joy-filled, Christ-honoring lives.”
What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of blogging?
Jed: My favorite hobbies include BBQing, hiking, reading, and spending time at the beach. Many of my favorite memories include times where I was hiking, with one of my daughters in the baby-backpack. Addison, our almost two-year-old, has nearly outgrown this. The exciting news is that Emmalynn will be arriving in April, and the hiking, daddy-daughter, dates will continue.
Jenny: I love taking long walks on the beach with my family, reading, and I’m a huge Walking Dead fan. I also enjoy scrapbooking and photography, but with three–soon to be four kiddos–I don’t have as much time for these activities as I used to.
What top five words would you use to describe yourself?
Jed: Husband, daddy, Christ-follower, adventurous, and laid-back.
Jenny: Wife, mommy, chocoholic, thoughtful, compassionate.
