This week I’ve decided to become a minimalist (okay- actually, I decided a while back but this week I got busy BECOMING one!). When I say minimalist I mean within reason. I’m not taking pictures off walls and throwing out my whole craft closet, but I am doing some serious cleaning out and getting serious about what I bring into the house. But while I’ve been doing all that there has been little blogging happening and lots of messes being made. Oh well- at least I made it to 100 Happy Days Link Party 26 this week!
You may have noticed things look a little different on the site. My minimalist dreams seem to be spilling over to my blog and I just needed to tone things down a bit. Feel free to look around and let me know your thoughts 🙂
My Lees are just beginning to get into the princess thing and they loved dressing up for Sweet Brynn’s birthday party!
Live in the Sunshine
We spent the day at Berry biking and running barefoot in thick grass. The girls loved it! On the last half of our ride B was running out of fuel and getting fussy. Whit, being the loving big sister she is pep talked her the entire way home, “I wub u, B! I wuuuuuub u! No cy, B- you my sist-uh”. I love the little pep talks she gives her baby girl.
Tuesday we had a tennis match in my college town (Athens! Go DAWGS!) for the state semi-finals. We rarely make it over unless it’s Gameday so I haven’t visited the camp I worked at through college in a few years. I had an hour or so to kill when we got to Athens so I headed over to ESP and had the opportunity to tour the new, amazing facility they are building and even see a few of my old campers and friends. B got to join me and loved exploring the building that I sweated it out in for so many summers!
Welcome to 100 Happy Days Link Party 26
Thank you for joining us for Link Party 26 of 100 Happy Days. 100 Happy Days is just growing and growing and we are so excited to connect with each of you! Alison, Valerie, and I are thankful you are back with us this week and we are excited to read your words.
Behind the Link
Every few weeks, the 100 Happy Days ladies choose a blogger who regularly links up to be featured in a special ‘Behind the Link‘ snippet! We will share the blog, a short Q&A with the blogger, and his or her social media links. We invite you to get to know some of your linkup buddies & to show some love by dropping in for a visit!
Our third Behind the Link feature is Welcome Home Ministry, a blog written by Tiffiney! Check out this short Q&A about her blog.
Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging to encourage and equip women in their role as wives and moms. I knew that the internet was the most effective way to reach tons of women with the message of the Gospel and its dynamic relationship to family-life. Thanks to this website, I’m reaching people way beyond my limited physical reach with the message of hope that only Jesus Christ offers, and it feels great!
What is the meaning of the name of your blog?
Because of my love for Little House on the Prairie – I almost named my blog “Little House on the Freeway,” but I decided against that because I wanted this blog to be about something larger than me, so I chose Welcome Home because it’s reminiscent of home and family. The word “Ministry” was added because the name “Welcome Home” was already taken!
If you could sum up the purpose of your blog in one sentence, what would it be?
Welcome Home Ministry: Celebrating the Adventure of Faith and Family Life!
What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of blogging?
Oh my goodness! You are going to think I am the most boring person ever – but I am stumped at naming my hobbies! Hmm . . . let’s see: I love to watch a good movie. I’m an occasional reader and an aspiring gardener – this year I hope to plant vegetables! Geez! I homeschool all day and in between I steal moments to blog (yet my life seems so rich and full). Did you say hobbies?
What top five words would you use to describe yourself?
Chameleon. Encourager. Chocoholic. Closeted praise dancer. Free spirit (Woo-Hoo!).
